我第一次接触到信息是在我十岁那年做了中国东部一个很有名的少年杂志的“小小播报员”。这项小小的工作第一次让我认识到如何去识别有用的信息，如何去找寻有用的信息。而这些都是我现在学习信息学所必要的知识和本领。而与此同时，学习钢琴和阅读文学著作也开阔了我的眼界，认识了世界和人生。而当时我特别清楚地知道自己想要做一个像建筑师那样的人，去建筑自己的知识框架。

I encountered information for the first time when I was ten -- as a little announcer of a famous youth magazine in east China. This little work made me realize how to identify useful information and how to figure out useful information for the first time. And all these are the necessary knowledge and skills for informatics that I learn at present. Meanwhile, studying piano and reading literary works have also broadened my vision and have made me know the world and life. At that time, I knew perfectly that I want to be a man like an architect to build a knowledge frame of mine.

进入大学我更多地去思考了有关于未来的问题。而我觉得自己在文理两方面都不错，所以我应该适合一些交叉性的学科。而这也是为什么我对信息科学产生了兴趣。前两年档案学的学习让我掌握了分析和管理信息的基本知识。同时我也认识到技术在信息科学当中的重要性，于是我辅修了计算机科学。虽然修两个学位是件蛮难的事情，但我的计算机课程学得跟其他计算机系的学生一样好，尤其是那些跟我自己专业有关的课程，比方说数据结构跟数据库技术。这些高质量的课程对于系统设计都是非常有帮助的。而信息科学这个专业也教会了我很多有关如何帮助人们有效组织，使用和找寻信息的知识。通过设计信息系统，我把理论知识运用到了实践，也锻炼了团队合作能力。

I turned to think more about the matter of future when I attended university. I thought I was both good at arts and science and therefore I was suitable to study interdisciplinary subjects. And this was also the reason why I became so interested in information science. Archival Science which I learned two years ago made me master basic knowledge on how to analyze and manage information. And I minored in computer science as I realized the important role technique plays in information science. Though it was quite hard to study two degrees, my computer science was as good as those of students majoring in computer science, especially in the courses related to my major, such as data structure and database technique. These high quality courses were also very helpful to system design. In addition, information science also taught me lots of knowledge on how to help people to organize, use, and search information efficiently. Through designing information system, I not only have applied the theory into practice but also have developed my team work ability.

为了迎接将来的挑战，我需要更多的磨砺。如今信息技术推动着大多数产业的发展，也让我觉得自己的理想是非常有意义的。我不仅希望可以创造让用户满意的技术，更希望可以创造提高他们工作效率的技术。毕业之后，我想先找一份有关技术使用性分析的工作。然后去找到机会创造更多更有用的技术服务。因为用户需求越来越个人化，了解他们的需求也成为产品设计最重要的部分。

In order to meet the challenges in the future, I need to steel myself more. Nowadays, information science promotes the development of a large number of industries. This also makes me feel that my ideal is of significance. I not only hope to create users-satisfied techniques, but also hope to create techniques to enhance their work efficiency. After graduated, I wanted to find a job on technique utility analysis first and then to find more changes to create more helpful technical services. As users’ demands become more and more personalized, to learn about their demands also becomes the most important part in product design.

之所以放弃当地最好学校的保研机会，是因为我想到更好的学习环境下锻炼自己。XX学校的人机交互项目就非常吸引我。这个项目会帮助我更深入地理解设计，计算技术以及人的行为。而这些，对于将来想成为一个IT专业人士的我，都是非常有帮助的。而我广泛的兴趣和活泼的性格都会让我有朝一日在信息学领域崭露头角。也谢谢你们考虑我的学校申请以及资金申请。

The reason why I gave up the postgraduate recommendation to the best local school is that I want to go to a better academic environment to develop myself. And human-computer interaction project in XX University attracts me deeply. This project will help me to deepen my understanding about design, computer science, as well as human behaviors.
